Hi I'm Gem

I was raised by a family of strong women and gentle men. Mothers were, and are, the shoulders I gratefully stand on. But through my past work with feminist, fertility and childbirth anthropologists, and mothers themselves, I learned that their courage and strength are hard-earned. This is where I want to pay the care I received forward.

I love being a doula because I help mothers (and their partners!) uncover their power and needs as they experience pregnancy, birth and raising new humans. Women deserve to have the peaceful, respectful births they want. It is an honour to empower women to become the shoulders their new family will stand on, and I look forward to working with you.
